Boosting sustainability for businesses: Place Support Partnership join forces with Planet Mark

We are delighted to announce a new partnership between Place Support Partnership and Planet Mark, bringing together the key philosophy for both businesses - that sustainability is good for business.

By 2050, all UK businesses must be net zero. The UK government has committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050. This means organisations must measure all the carbon emissions associated with their activities and then reduce those emissions by at least 90% by 2050.

Place Support Partnership (PSP) is dedicated to helping the UK’s businesses thrive through cost savings. The company has been commissioned by 60 Business Improvement Districts (BIDs) and 10 local councils across the UK and has identified millions in savings since 2021. Sustainability is a key component of their service offering to support places through working with BIDs, Local Authorities and town teams.

Planet Mark, a sustainability certification and net zero provider for businesses, believe sustainability and business go hand in hand. For a decade they have seen sustainability certifications support carbon reductions as well as business growth. On average their members achieve 11% absolute carbon emissions reductions with 14% carbon savings per employee.

Following this partnership there are now a wide range of sustainability services PSP can offer to places. This includes a PAS 2060 approved net zero programme for businesses, carbon offsetting support, carbon auditing and energy management plans.

Highlighting the importance of Net Zero is paramount to both businesses, and this partnership will enable businesses to take easy to implement steps with industry experts at hand to support them on their journey.

Rishi Sood, CEO of PSP, commented “It’s extremely exciting to begin this partnership and to see the real impact this will have supporting businesses of all kinds work towards the Net Zero goal. By bringing our expertise together we will be able to guide businesses through their own sustainability journey.”

For PSP and Planet Mark there are many exciting launches coming up with local authorities, supported through the Shared Prosperity Fund, focused on helping businesses reduce carbon and put sustainable business practices in place.

Keep your eyes peeled for more news on this soon!
